Thanks to this track of yours, I dared to adapt this style to make my track Electro Funker and knowing that I'm not imitating coda. Sounds silly I know lol.
I first heard styles like this from some modern coda tracks, like the passport cover from the classic MIDI tribute album from staffcirc and stuff like this.
When I first heard Slowin' It Down A Bit!, I thought you were a secret alt of coda where he uploaded sandbox stuff LOL. But Saga Musix implied that you definitely were not coda and iirc that this track was from pre-2010, by which we started speculate to that this could've actually inspired him.
It's a great module btw. Cool to see you active on BotB :)

But aside from that, it’s just a basic new jack swing beat, it was popular in the late 80s and 90s. Some examples of what I was probably going for:
Sonic 3 - Hydrocity Zone Act 1
Stevie B - Love and Emotion
Guy - Groove Me
Bobby Brown - Don’t be Cruel
(I was listening to those songs a lot back in 2008)
coda’s excellent songs you linked give me these vibes:
Bomberman 64 - Green Green Gardens
Persona 2 Eternal Judgment - etheria
WAVE - Pools of Poison
So I think both of us were influenced by new jack swing and the music that was inspired by that genre.

In case anyone was wondering why I joined in 2008: I was in #mod_shrine and someone told me there was a battle in #botb and I joined and it was fun! Idk why I never came back (at the time), but alas.
In 2022 somehow I saw BotB on twitter and tried to join OHBs but the scheduling never worked out. Then I realized there were major battles where scheduling isn’t a problem, and it was Summer Chip so I worked on my entry and joined in! (It didn’t even occur to me to have multiple entries lol)
It’s been awesome to have a place to share tunes! And also there are so many cool people here and incredible music to listen to for literally ever!
