Run, shoot stuff, survive, don't fall into pits. Move with arrow keys+AS. A simple game.
Beating the game though requires mad skills because it's so laggy that it's hard to operate. Audio causing memory leaks or something. This is the power of the GM:S HTML5 compiler module. Submitting anyways. FF preferred.

Tips on getting to Hell: Shoot birds and they will eventually start dropping the lazer weapon poweru

Game is completely off-line and doesn't download stuff from websites.
You're supposed to run it so that "html5game" and "index.htlm" are in the same location. Chrome has known issues with GM:S framework thing so it has to be run with FF to work.

Yeah, I can't seem to get this one to extract properly either.

Ok here's a zip with completely default compression that you should be able to open with winrar or anything:
I suggest though getting 7-zip because it is better

I mean, I'm using an unarchiver on Linux (also tested Windows with built-in Extract, no dice) - something is messed up with the archive, flat-out. Or some weird non-standard compression was used - not worth the headaches imo.

But I just linked a zip that works, did you read my previous comment? It uses the most default compression method. To make sure it works I tried both Windows 7 and XP built-in extraction wizards and they both worked fine. So if you still get an error it's a problem on your end...

Eh, maybe I was being a bit forward, sorry about that: I was talking about the original upload, haven't tried the new link yet because I'm at work, will test when I get home. I suppose I was reacting to the "use 7-zip" comment, if an archive is broken on multiple unarchivers, I don't think the sensible response is to change the unarchiver.

EDIT: To clarify, I have no problem with 7-zip, I just think recommending a different unarchival tool is circumventing the problem, not fixing it.

7zip actually does work to my knowledge (tried winrar at first, got an error)

New zip works fine - thanks!

(Sorry for the trouble too, Just figured it was worth noting that the original archive gave me trouble on multiple machines with different unarchivers.)

About the game:
Love the exaggerated running animation, all the graphics are bright and cheerful. This is actually one of better games I've played this game jam. Though, I do wish there were a high score list or a way to track and compare progress though. Good, fitting music and SFX, too.

Yea, it was my fault. The 7-zip thing was half joke because I thought people are having problems with the file because the'yre using trash software to try extracting it, not because it used some advanced compression method that isn't supported by many programs. Good now that I know how to make more compatible packs in the future and thanks for the feedback!

yes, that updated zip worked just fine!
Love the art style and music/sounds...!
I really suck at this game! Is there more than one level? I can't get very far!
Also, I find it hilarious that there is more than one game in this jam featuring ladybug enemies!

Yeah the game can be pretty intense and sometimes difficult. There is an additional Hell
level where you will be transported to when you collect the lazer powerup that starts dropping from birds once you've killed enough of them. Of course, you have to collect enough coins first to get them to spawn.
The white box at the very end was rushed and I didn't have much time to make any fancy ending screen, so after the white box you can consider to have beaten the game.

I couldn't get to hell on account of this game is super hard. But the music is really cool and the sounds are good, and it's gome some great parallax pants going on for sure. I just wish the hitboxes were a little better synched up with the sprites, because sometimes I'll jump through a coin, or it looks like it, but I missed it a little bit, and my jump is so floaty that there's really no going back for that coin. (Of course, the coin doesn't do much, but damnit, you give me a game with coins, and I will want those coins.)
