BotB is a resource for international digital artists to meet and greet each other. No style is truly superier to another but through combat we can find ourselves. BotB is a creative community site featuring competitive battles of various digital art platforms.
SOME BotB HISTORY
Organized by Blank, BotB started in May 2003 as a local event titled "Ann Arbor Int'l Electronic Music Composition Competition" (or A˛IEmc˛). Competitors were given 25 samples and 48 hours to produce original material. The same event repeated two more times in the Ypsi-Arbor Michigan USA area, people exchanging CDs in person or by email. Everyone's submissions were played back LOUD in a venue. The third compo was quite a sucess with 33 entries and over 200 people in attendance.
...and then...
Battle of the Bits was born. As a website, BotB has handled numerous remixing, tracking & chiptune compos over the past three years. Designed with demo scene and the interactivity of an MMORPG in mind, BotB trudges ahead fearlessly into depths unknown.

"Let me boil it down for you -- When Battle of the Bits development began the team consisted of one very unexperienced programer and a bucket of ideas. Thus, BotB is an amalgamation of learning mistakes comprising of every poor system design decision one could make. This, folks, is an internet application held together by duct tape.
I quit the seven year long factory job and moved into my parents' basement so I could try building websites for a living. Thanks to years of tinkering on BotB in the wee hours of the night after work I have the experience to do so. So far I am just barely paying the bills. Not bad, eh?
By making a donation you secure extra attention to BotB's development. I think about BotB all the time and there is a definite path to duct-tape-free liberation! But I only have so many hours in front of a computer through a week and, unfortunately, economic priorities take precedence. In the meantime, I can only do my best." =P
