The War and The Tossed Salad
  26th/106   Σ26.810   May 19th 2013 12:18am
This song is a musical depiction of a soldier who has just been terminally wounded and is about to die. His brain can't process what has happened to him just yet, and because of that he goes into a dream-like trance, a world where everything is perfect and he has everything he ever wanted. He enjoys it at first, and is blissfully unaware of his tragic fate, but he soon starts to feel uneasy. He begins to see the world darken and warp around him. Nothing seems right anymore, and as he starts to look for an escape from this mind game, he begins to weaken, he starts to feel dizzy and eventually collapses on the ground. In that moment he snaps back into reality, fully realizing his fate.
His hands tremble as he clutches the bleeding wound in his chest, everything is beginning to darken and chill. But he is not scared, nor is he sad or angry at his fate. Rather he is content with how he lived his life, how he served his country and died for it. There is no darkness in his eyes now, everything has turned to light as his life flashes before his eyes and with a strained whisper he breathes, "Peace."
Content to leave his earthly life behind he gives up the ghost, and ascends into heaven.

Edited the Crash sample due to having a left pan on it for some reason. Re-upping MP3, and I will redo my other render later.

Edit: Also I don't think my mp3 render turned out to be the same... I will come back to that tomorrow

Ok, sorry for the third bump. But I remixed the MP3 render and it should be all good now! I will shortly readd the higher quality mp3 as well. Again, sorry for the trouble with this entry. I should have been more tentative to things like this when I was working on it~

That was one thing I forgot to mention. The title is a shortened description in a way. On the one hand, you have reality. Life, death, and everything in-between. (The War) On the other hand, you have a fantasy world that some people cling to. Where everything is perfect and just as we want. An illusion of life, which when compared to the harsh reality of The War, appears as utter nonsense and doesn't seem to fit in whatsoever.

Hope that makes sense ~_~

Maybe a little similar? I'm not sure, the summary on wikipedia doesn't really sound the same, but I've never read it so I don't really know. If you need to relate it to something else, this is kind of similar to the ending of "Star Trek: Generations"

:') *clap clap clap*

Beautiful and moving, yet tragic and heart-breaking at the same time. This piece is great even standing alone, but when coupled with the description, this is made even better. Even though the production could be better at points, you still get perfect 7's from me :)

Thanks FoD, your comment means a lot to me :)

I agree that my production skills are lacking, I struggled trying to get it just the way it is now haha.
Hopefully on future tracks it will be better :)
Thank you again man

This is well done, I think you'll get the hang of how to keep the highs in your mix later.
