So, that's where pook hid all teh preshus formats from our eyes... Clever boi he must be!

I initially thought about drawing a classic 2D pixelart this time, but after i saw that this "category" got already pwnd so hard by really top tier entry, i changed my mind and decided to make another 3D scene (because i can't help i love Blender so much <3).
So yeah, here it is.

BTW, pulling off a convincing snow in 3D is a bitch, but i tried... Hope i'll do better next tiem tho

All nubz =)

Some stock textures used (i.e. cave wall, adlib format symbol), others are Blender's procedural

LoL great job again. Those crystals and shrooms give such an epic videogamey feel. Great job with the chip representation. My only question, is the logo supposed to be like a japanese flag or candy cane?? XD <3
*teh snow looks guuud

If there's a touch i personally like about it, it's the fact that the foreground shrooms are out of focus, to keep the feeling of less detail-cluttered scene.
On the other hand i regret not showing them in all their glory at the same time, since they were fun to model :)

as someone who has done virtually nil 3D compart, i am v impressed by this.

HOWEVER i thought you should know that at first glance i thought this scene was underwater

Oh, thanks for the input! Didn't notice it myself until now, so it's always good to know about other's perception of it... I bet the greenish-tinted lighting might be the culprit and gave it a bit underwatery mood. Also, the snow in the background should be brighter and more crispy, but as i already mentioned, i still succ at snowy things ;)

Yay! Candy cane was my initial guess. Also I had a similar reaction as Jangler with the underwater feel, but my brain quickly adjusted to the background. I think it looks ezactly like what you were going for.

I couldn't resist recreating OMPT logo, it's just too pretty :3
(If anyone wants the polymesh of it, just let me know)

this begs the question: how many years of learning blender (and where too) were required? (i'd like to get into 3d modelling myself that's why i'm asking no hate kty)

Uhm, you might be surprised, but i don't have much background in 3D....

IIRC i started making things in Blender just for the sake of fun ~5 months ago, after switching from Wings 3D in which i've only made a couple of models to be imported into Blender for final rendering, because i was reluctant to learn Blender' UI and workflow (they feel convoluted only in the beginning. Really, later it starts to make a lot of sense).

That's pretty much it, if we count out some really random messings with Zmodeller somewhere in the 2002 (the thing GTA modders tend to use, which has such a shitty interface that Blender feels like a piece of cake to master in comparison, lol) and later, DeleD 3D

How i learn things... Hm, i tend to lookup what i need ad hoc, while working on something, and initially, to get the general feel of workflow in Blender i went for video tutorials, there are many very well done ones out there.

So, i'm nowhere near being a skilled artist, especially comparing myself with the wizards @Blenderartists.org.
I'll take your comment as a compliment tho <3
