what da heck was making all that crackly stuff?

that's a good question... i think it's something to do with my laptop's audio input, but i was in too much of a rush to verify it/fix it. two of the dubs were recorded via mic'd acoustic-electric guitar/casio VL-1 -> amp -> laptop; one was acoustic-electric guitar direct in to the computer (but i didn't save the .aup). overall i think this was a kind of unfortunate entry between the fudged improv and cracking, but apparently folks around here like that kinda stuff :P
