Renoise is getting popular here, and I'm not likin' it one bit. It's an expensive beast that I'll never understand!

It's not terribly expensive [$64 USD], or complicated [well, prior to 2.5... and then they really moved crap around, some of it for no apparent reason].

Either way, I hope more than 3 people enter...

When 2.5 was released I had 2.1 -- it didn't feel any different except for the new pattern matrix which is pretty handy. And it's not expensive, the demo version has everything you need. The extra features you pay for could be considered arbitrary (render selection to sample, render song to .wav, and ASIO support) for this battle. Unless, of course, Soiled Bargains is refurring to the amount of system resources required to run it. My PIII laptop with .5gb RAM seems to handle it just fine.

I had a 500MHz iBook G3 with 192 MB of RAM run 1.9 just fine. Took 10-15% processor time normally, but that's nothing.

Really? No annoying "buy me now" dialogs, either? Okay, now I'm A LITTLE interested...

B-Knox, have, like, 2 (or 4) gigs of RAM. Resource-wise, I'm fine.

Yeah, it does have 'buy me now' pop-ups. But they don't come up that often. ;D

Yes, I do have a registered version. I can render all the tracks if necessary. But you can record 'What You Hear' in another app if you want.

Unfortunately, no. Someday I will implement the User->multipleBotBrs functionality. An extra BotBr will cost mad boons. The idea is to create anonymity for successful BotBrs.

Can you actually make compos through the CMS that allow multiple entries?

The SounDevotion Compo is considering doing a chiptune compo the same month that BOTB are doing a Renoise compo with similar rules to SounDevotion...

Soiled Bargains: yeah renoise is a beast, but expensive? not at all; especially in comparison to most DAWs. ;)
it's easy to get your head around mate, just a lot of fiddling/experimenting/reading like most things. :)

Results finally in!!! Sorry -- I thought there was a Tally mechanism in place but it's still triggered manually. :X
