take a look at strobe's new detroit entry (and the duplicate links to the comments on the botb homepage). there was a thread with 2 comments (gyms and strobe), but then that got overwritten by b00daw's comment.
we think what happened was: b00daw had a copy of the page open without any posts on it, so the system did not check to see whether there was already a thread before starting his new one. so his "new" thread took the place of the already existing thread for this entry.
this could be fixed by making sure the posting code always checks for the existence of a thread on the page, even when it did not yet exist upon the initial page load.
