Yes! It's time to vote on WC5's 114 entries from 13 countries. We have over a week to get this massive task done. If the average entry only has 15 votes at the end, the voting period will get a slight extension.

Now, which is more befitting - OHC or OHB? One Hour Compos are a long held tradition of chat rooms. The lingo 'compo' is short for competition and can be easily misunderstood as 'comp' or 'compilation'. BotB is a battle site. So would it make sense to rename these events 'One Hour Battle' instead?

Eh, I don't know. OHC is a bit more traditional.

We could at least replaces a few instances of "OHC" with "One Hour Competition". Like the OHC Lyceum article for instance, we could rename that to "One Hour Competition".

Also, could we be able to discuss, here, a possible time for doing a synclisten for WC5?

Changing the word OHC could upset quite a lot of people seeing as its use on the internet goes waaay back! I say keep it as OHC and not OHB. People can learn to live with the fact it's not a "one hour compilation".

I've been voting on one or two different entries daily.

Should I be stepping it up?

Changing the word "download" could upset quite a lot of people seeing as its use on the internet goes waaay back! I say keep it as download and not donload.

OHB is cool and fun i vote for that one

Zero, I think so, yes! xD. I usually input votes on a text file and dump vote "on a sittin". About less than a week still, but I feel I'm on diapers and behind regarding votes. Should be voting ~20 entries per day (revoting and fixing)

botb's always been a little different here and there
;D

Can you do votes in bulk like that?

Anything to save a few clicks would help, you know? Just a convinience . . .

oh, I meant it manually. Page by page, entry by entry, no automatation yet. Ideas to help voting on this such big compos? =o

There are a couple ways voting could be improved.

1) A .zip file with all entries and a .txt voting form that could be processed by BotB

2) A huge web page listing all entries with collapsible extra stuff like tags, favorites and comments.

One thing I do like about the current manual process is that increases chances of tags, favorites and comments happening. I would really like to stress the importance of feedback on BotB. I know that seems daunting in the wake of 104 entries but no entry in a major battle should go without some kind of comment. ;D Tags and favorites, of course, still need a lot of work for BotBr management and browsing...

I see your point. Though I'm sort of...comment whore? XD so it doesn't apply here the criteria. Also, check my tags number (and while you're at it, my palletes :P)

Option #1 sounds like bandwidth and time saving, which is what I'm after. I comment as I go along listening, but voting for me usually it's a long process of editing and reediting tunes' votes over and over until I'm at least 89% happy with the results, so actual voting occurs long after I made comments and on my end. Comments are on going on botb's end, and so are votes but on my end, but when I put votes no botb, they're final and for good.

oh! off topic :D

i vote for OHB :)))).... it fix the the botb idea of battles and stuff... i know ohc is tradicional but it;s not like change the world just for a letter, so i vote OHB :D.

About the votation system, actually is really simple, you just vote for the tracks you like or dislike, from 1 to 7, and done.

if BOTB keeps OHC's then OHB could be used for a different type of battle down the road.

OHB might be confusing to newcomers, then again I'd never heard of OHC until BotB. I don't think it really matters, both are fine.
